Sacks Café Review

This Downtown spot serves a world's worth of flavors from chicken and scallops over udon noodles to cider-brined pork tenderloin with Alaska purple potato salad. The kitchen relies on local produce when available. There's always something new to try at Sacks. When Anchorage weather turns gray, the colorful interior and art provide respite. The monthly wine flights, normally with three different selections of 3-ounce pours with information sheets on each wine, don't hurt either. Sacks cooks seafood to perfection, so ask about the daily specials, particularly the fresh king salmon and halibut. Singles congregate along a small bar, sampling wines from California, Australia, and France. The café is especially crowded during lunch, served from 11 to 2:30, and dinner begins at 5. The weekend brunch menu, one of the best Downtown, includes eggs Benedict, a Mexican scrambled egg dish called migas, and various salads and sandwiches.

A party for your taste buds! Save room for dessert!

Wow, talk about creative culinary design and abundance of flavor. The food was as unique and savory as I could imagine on any of the cooking shows. Presentation was so stunning that we started to take pictures sad food came by. BUT leave room for dessert if your are fortunate enough for them to have the special chocolate pot de creme...true chocolate heaven...mmmmm! Thank you.

PS. Found out they have a Roadhouse restaurant On Northern Lights blvd which was just as sensational!
