This out-of-the-way restaurant provides a respite after a summertime hike or wintertime ski in nearby Kincaid Park. Chef and owner Al Levinsohn worked his way up through some of Alaska's finest restaurants, and the experience shines with his diverse and creative menu. The upscale setting is lively, with old-time jazz spilling from the speakers, the buzz of conversations, and artistically presented meals. Low-backed metal stools line the wine bar, where you can sample a microbrew or vintages from around the globe. The menu changes every few weeks, but always includes filet mignon, grilled Hawaiian game fish, Alaskan salmon or halibut, and a rich seafood gumbo.
