Snow City Cafe

Snow City Cafe Review

On summer days, Snow City attracts some serious crowds—and for good reason. This modern but unassuming café, convenient to many of the downtown hotels, serves one of Anchorage's best (and reasonably priced) breakfasts. Oh, lunch, too. If you're not an early riser, be prepared to wait. Put your name down with the hostess, grab a coffee at the to-go stand, and hang out with everybody else outside until your table is ready. While waiting, consider writing a haiku to add to the restaurant's customer-penned haiku collection. Service is fast in the chipper and family-friendly restaurant. The breakfast menu, served all day, features inventive spins on eggs Benedict, including one topped with king crab cakes; omelets; pancakes; and more. Snow City's lunch menu consists of hot or cold sandwiches, fresh soups, and salads, and has lots of vegetarian options. Meat eaters need look no further than the excellent meatloaf sandwich; since Snow City offers a refrigerator case filled with to-go sandwiches, the meatloaf is also a perfect picnic or hiking companion.
