Owner Maria-Elena Ball befriends everyone, particularly young children, at this authentic Mexican restaurant. Favorite dishes include lime-marinated fried chicken, chilaquiles (tortilla casserole with mole sauce), and entremesa de queso (melted cheese, jalapeños, and onions with homemade tortillas). A vegetarian menu is available. The restaurant is several miles south of downtown, so you'll need to drive or catch the city bus.

From 1975 until 1985 this is where we called home. You felt like family with Maria Elana. My mouth still waters thinking about the salsa and mole sauce. I'm from Arizona and lived around the country and there is no better place to eat Mexican food. Period.
