Fodor's Review

An absolute must for epicures and adventurous eaters, Crow's Nest uses inspired combinations to highlight, but never overpower, the freshest ingredients Alaska has to offer. Signature dishes include Alaskan black cod with temperanillo-braised oxtail, sauce romesco, and squid ink. On the top floor of the Hotel Captain Cook, this is the best restaurant view in Anchorage, spanning the Chugach Mountains to the east, the Alaska Range to the north and west, and the city 20 stories below. This place has it all: unforgettable atmosphere, sophisticated food, artful presentation... oh, and did we mention the 10,000-bottle wine cellar? The knowledgeable, friendly staff will happily help you navigate the 50-page wine list.

Crow's Nest Restaurant Review

Wow - I've lived here on and off for 19 years. We have many favorite restaurants but have never really gone to a "fancy" one. My Dad, stationed here in the 60's came up from Florida for a visit last week. My stepmother wanted to go to a nice restaurant so I asked around work and one of the suggestions was for the Crow's Nest at the Captain Cook Hotel. Uggh - I'll never listen to this coworker again. Our waiter "Wayne" was like a funeral home

greeter. The food was less than mediocre and was not satisfying at all in both taste & quantity for the $$$PRICE, along with the 20% gratuity that they throw into your bill. Though the view was spectacular and some of the staff were friendly, we won't be going back there again. I'd grade it a D+ rating. Next day to make up for the experience my wife & I treated my parents to the "Dish" restaurant on International Airport Road. It was a complete 180 turn! Mark Mastre Wasilla

Bad food, bad service

The Crow's Nest was a huge disappointment. We spent over $150 for two people with one cocktail, two salads, two entrees, and one dessert and experienced nothing but really bad food and service to match. Incredibly fatty meats, poorly prepared seafood, and a waiter that never checked on us between courses. We were there over two hours and we had to chase down servers just to get more water and to order dessert. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

You can do a lot better in Anchorage for the price.
