Downtown Hotel Review
A large collection of local artwork, including mushing scenes and antiques, adds to the hotel's early-1900s decorations. The original structure was built in 1902, but was destroyed in 1980 by a fire. Rebuilt in 1981–82, the exterior preserves the look of the frontier. At the hotel's moderately expensive Jack London Grill (C$25), go for the Canadian and American regional specialties, including daily appetizer, pasta, and prime-rib specials. The restaurant serves three meals a day and has an outside deck for summer dining. Suites have air-conditioning and refrigerators.
