$$$$, French, West End
Fodor's Review:
Classic French cuisine receives contemporary accents at this romantic restaurant, set in an early-20th-century house with mountain views. Seafood entrées range from wild salmon with a carrot-ginger coulis to slow-roasted sablefish with a shellfish ragout; meat options include rich beef tenderloin and mustard-crusted rack of lamb. Vegetarian choices are always available. One of the few places with table-side service of steak tartare and Caesar salad, Le Gavroche also has a 5,000-label wine cellar.
