One of the best places to try British Columbian food and wine is this pretty candlelit bistro overlooking English Bay. The menu, which owner Harry Kambolis likes to call "stubbornly regional," changes seasonally and relies almost completely on local and regional products, from salmon and shellfish to game and fresh organic vegetables. Vegetarian selections are always on the menu, and the exclusively Pacific Northwest and Californian wine list has at least 40 choices by the glass. The prix-fixe early dinner (C$30), served from 5 to 6 PM is a steal; reservations are required for these early dinners and recommended other times.
