$$$$, Mediterranean, Financial District
Fodor's Review:
Tawfik Shehata is part of a new breed of young Canadian chefs who are changing the culinary scene for the better. The slick, soaring room is tucked away off First Canadian Place's food court; the chef's menu is a winning combo of Mediterranean (mostly Italian, really) engaged but not quite married to Moroccan. Lamb rack meets almond tahini, and skate wing mingles with blood orange marmellata. Signature wine-braised octopus is charred then tossed with olives, capers and other goodies, while Parmesan gnudi is sure to become your new best friend.
