Fodor's Expert Review Hôtel du Lac

Just down the lakeside road from the ski station at Mont-Tremblant, this is a rustic but comfortable European-owned hotel with excellent facilities and magnificent views of Mont-Tremblant. Built as a family house in the early 1900s, the building has served as a rooming house, a brothel, and a private club. The original log-built lodge is furnished in colonial style, with wooden staircases and huge stone fireplaces, and the split-level condominium complex up the hill has fireplaces, private balconies or patios, and kitchenettes.
