Mont-Tremblant
Mont-Tremblant, at more than 3,000 feet, is one of the highest peaks in the Laurentians and a major draw for skiers. The resort area at the foot of the mountain (called simply Tremblant) is spread around 14-km-long (9-mi-long) Lac Tremblant, and is consistently ranked among the top ski resorts in eastern North America.
The hub of the resort is a pedestrians-only village that looks a bit like a displaced Québec City. The buildings, constructed in the style of New France, with dormer windows and steep roofs, house pubs, restaurants, boutiques, sports shops, a movie theater, self-catering condominiums, and hotels. A historical town this is not: built for the resort, it may strike you as a bit of Disney in the mountains.
