Fodor's Review

With a year-round Nordic spa and outdoor hot tub, and hammocks hung all around the property, and a newly added waterfall, relaxation is the order of the day at this rustic riverside retreat. Rooms in the fieldstone building have hardwood floors, and although furnishings are spare there's plenty of space for spreading out; all suites have fireplaces and double Jacuzzis. The spa includes a steam room and Finnish sauna. Breakfast and lunch are served in the spacious dining room; the auberge also offers a package that includes dinner off-site at one of several local restaurants.

A little gem in the hearth of the Laurentians

I discovered this place by searching on the net. The reviews were excellent so I book a 2 day dogsledding package. When I arrived I was amazed by the site. The staff at the reception greated me with pleasure, were helpful and very courteous. The main building is more rustic with a lot of woods. Very warm ambiance with the fireplace in the large living room. My room in the other building right beside was one of the new rooms. More contemporary decored

with a splendid view on the river. We can hear the sound in the room ..very calming. The room was well equiped with a large jacuzzi and a fireplace. The bed was excellent. The breakfast and lunch are both generous, fresh and delicious. The dogsledding at 30 minutes from the auberge was a great experience. When we came back we went to the auberge's nordic spa. We were explained by a staff member who the thermotherapy works (hot/cold). We enjoyed all the facilities. My two favorite were the eucalyptus steam room and their new hot pond with water fall. Everything was peacefull, intimate not crowded. We slept well, absolutely no noise from the road...only the sound of the river. We had also massages in our room with our fire place on and with the patio door opened we could just relaxed listening only to this natural music. It had to the experience. I truly recommand this place and promise to take again a retreat in this lovely place.
