Emergencies in Québec City

Emergencies

More Travel Tips »

Centre Hospitalier Universitaire de Québec is the city's largest institution and incorporates the teaching hospitals Pavillon CHUL in Ste-Foy and Pavillon Hôtel-Dieu, the main hospital in Vieux-Québec.

If you don't have a major emergency but require medical assistance, you can walk into the Jeffery Hale Hospital. The city's only English-speaking hospital and mainly a long-term-care facility, it's open 24 hours. For an English-speaking doctor or dentist, call Jeffery Hale Community Services for a referral, weekdays 8:30-4:30.

Dr. Pierre Auger operates his dental practice on weekdays; both he and his receptionist speak English. Call for an appointment.

Pharmacie Brunet, north of Québec City in the Charlesbourg district, is open daily 8 AM-10:30 PM. Most outlets of the big pharmacy chains in the region (including Jean Coutu, Racine, Brunet, and Uniprix) are open every day and offer free delivery.
