Auberge Place d'Armes Review

Old Québec charm meets modern convenience at this property, which attracts a mix of couples and businesspeople staying on expense accounts. Two adjoined historic buildings feature well-appointed rooms equipped with LCD televisions, iPod docking stations, and large desks. Elephant-sized soaking tubs in some of the rooms and comfy "Québec Country" furnishings create a homey, relaxing space. The location, near the Château Frontenac, means it's a quick stroll to many Old City sites. Le Pain Béni, the on-site bistro, offers room service, a hot breakfast, and a sunny sidewalk terrace.

    Loved this place!

ok, we LOVED this place!!! It's right across the plaza from hotel frontenac, so great location. it's small and charming and quaint and the lady who works the front desk is SUPER helpful - got out a map and starred all the places we should see and gave us names of places to eat and really talked with us and catered her advice to what we wanted. We got there early, before checkin, but they let us leave our bags and that was when she gave us great advice about where to go/what to do. Breakfast is included in the price and it is really yummy and a truly decent size portion. They will also fix you a "to-go" breakfast if you are leaving early for a flight, and will miss b'fast hours. Just tell them the night before. For us the fixed yogurt with fruit and granola and a danish, but I'm sure if you didn't want yogurt, they could likely put together and ham baguette or just a croissant or such. The Episcopal church is just across the street - and they have services in both french and english. We attended the English one and the music was beautiful - real organ and the choir sang amazing choral pieces. It was quite a treat.
