Largo

Fodor's Review:

Jazz is what you'll hear and jazzed is what you'll feel at this St-Roch restaurant. Owners Gino Ste-Marie and Paolo Putignaro, art connoisseurs, have combined passions to create a dynamic, evolving gallery and restaurant space that attracts a faithful local clientele. The art on the walls is for sale and the proceeds help to fund young local artists through the Fondation Largo pour les Arts. The food is Mediterranean, Moroccan, and Spanish. You'll find light, textured meals, omelets, salads, lamb, veal, and fresh sea fare. Specialties include a bouillabaisse Marseillaise and tartares. Once you take your seat in the evening, there's no rush to leave. Plan to shell out C$25 for the show, and get there an hour before it starts. Weekend brunch is hopping as well, and the place to see and be seen is on the custom-made red sofa.
