Low prices and some of the best Asian food in the city make this a popular spot. The simple menu of Vietnamese, Chinese, Thai, and Japanese dishes has a few tasty surprises, such as the chakis, a fried appetizer filled with shrimp, onions, and sugared potatoes. The General Tao's chicken is outstanding, as is the grilled pork with honey and toasted peanuts. Thang Long doesn't serve any alcohol, but you can bring your own (SAQ, the government liquor store, is two
blocks up the hill on rue St-Jean). Chinese lanterns and dark-blue walls make up the decor, and there's a small terrace.
