Although two of its three former screening rooms now host live performances by singers, musicians, and dancers, the remaining Cinéma Parallèle is a champion of independent cinema, running avant-garde Canadian and international movies. With lots of candy and organic popcorn on tap, it's a very comfortable place to catch a movie. Excentris plays host to lots of great festivals, including the Festival of New Cinema in October.
