Montreal Restaurants

Shaksuka, eggplant meze

Su Review

The vibrant blue and white decor of this airy restaurant will make you feel like you've been transported to the Mediterranean, and owner Fisun Ercan is recognized as one of the most authentic Turkish chefs in Montréal. Everything served here is fresh and made in house. Start off by ordering a selection of mezzes (appetizers) to share and then move on to hearty mains. The house manti, which is basically homemade ravioli stuffed with meat and served with a yogurt sauce, is delicious. At brunch, the breakfast sampler allows you to satisfy both sweet and savory cravings: you choose the style of egg dish and Chef Ercan takes care of the rest, filling a basket with bread and jam, traditional borek filo pastry, fresh kaymak—sort of like clotted cream—served with honey, and a fresh cucumber, tomato, and feta salad.
