Maison Publique Review
Local celebrity chef Derek Dammann teamed up with the famed British chef Jamie Oliver to open this pub-style restaurant. The interior is dark and cozy, and a long counter takes up one side of the space—it's fun to sit here because you get a prime view of the tattooed chefs in action. The menu is posted on the wall and changes frequently based on what's in season. Foie gras toast with gherkins or baked oysters covered in cheese and marmite are both excellent dishes, as is Welsh rarebit: a slice of brioche covered with a sauce made from porter beer, béchamel, and melted cheese. The breakfast quiche, available at brunch on the weekends, is fabulous.
