The stylish ALT Hotel Quartier Dix30, with its virtual concierge, is both environmentally conscious and tech-savvy. A glass staircase and original graphic art dominate the lobby, which feels like a club where staff wear Second jeans and designer tops. For only $139, each loft-like room has high ceilings and oversize windows as well as a port where you can plug in your laptop, iPod, or digital camera, and use the flat-screen TV to view photos, listen to music, or work on your computer. Geothermal heating and cooling throughout the hotel is expected to reduce CO2 emissions associated with this kind of building. Rooms also have recycling bins and water-saving toilets. Request a corner room, it's the same price, but they have more windows.
