Le Petit Italien
Le Petit Italien Review
Two key factors conspire to make this a great Montréal dining spot: a fabulous terrace for warm summer evenings, and savory Italian comfort food at reasonable prices. One wall of this modern bistro is lined with glass mason jars containing the house tomato sauce, reminding diners that everything served at Le Petit Italien is prepared from scratch. One bite of the linguine buongustaio pasta dish, with guanciale, chicken, grapes, basil, and a white wine sauce, and you're a believer, though the classic and delicious spaghetti pomodoro, with that house tomato sauce is also a winner. This restaurant is not very big, so reservations are recommended. For brunch, try Le Petit Italien's take on grilled cheese with taleggio, mozzarella, Parmesan, and bacon on garlic bread.
