Vauvert

Vauvert Review

Black walls and twinkling lights makes Vauvert sound more like the setting for a Halloween party or Avril Lavigne's wedding than a place for a seriously romantic tête-à-tête, but somehow the "goth chic" works. New chef Raphael Robidas has brought his Pacific Rim cuisine to the restaurant and it's a winner. The signature Blue Marlin dish accompanied by jicama salad with lime, snow peas, mustard seeds, and tarragon vinaigrette is delicious, and the rack of lamb is made to perfection. If it's warm out, sit outside on Vauvert's terrace, which maintains the look and feel of the restaurant. They also serve lunch all week and brunch on weekends.

I agree with the review but I hasten to add a small negative comment.. for some readers, this will not be a negative comment at all... As a married man I take exception to women working in a restaurant in very short, very tight, very plunging dresses.. 3 inch heels... It's just very distracting when you're eating to have a woman, who's 5'10'', thin and busty, to lean over your table to pour wine.. why does my wife need to compete with that? We both thought that the staff could dress more conservative yet still convey a sexy curb appeal that would not slap you in the face. Women beware, you won't feel like you're dressed correctly.. no matter what you wear. You can't compete what's on display in this restaurant. Never..
