Among the towers of downtown is this Victorian house where buttery sauces and creamy desserts have survived the onslaught of nouvelle cuisine. The restaurant takes its name from its warm and comfortable cellar, but if you don't like low ceilings, there's plenty of room upstairs amid the sculptures and paintings on the upper two floors. Main courses might include rabbit cooked with wine, raisins, and spices or rack of lamb crusted with bread crumbs, mustard, garlic, and herbs. A children's menu, rare in restaurants of Le Caveau's caliber, is available.
