Le Marriott Château Champlain Review

Distinctive half-moon windows give this 36-floor skyscraper a Moorish look, which some argue resembles a cheese grater. These unique windows give the rooms wonderful views of Mont-Royal to the north and the St. Lawrence River to the south and east. Although the 1960s exterior calls out for retro decoration, the public areas, including the comfortable Bar Le Senateur, are elegantly modern. Undergoing a discrete renovation—gone is the Queen Anne furniture—the bedrooms are updated and cozy, rather than large and chic. The dreaded old elevators were replaced with quiet stealth lifts. Convenient underground passageways connect the hotel with the Bonaventure métro station and Place Ville-Marie.
