On the edge of Vieux-Montréal, this modern luxury hotel is part of the Montréal World Trade Center, a block-long retail and office complex. The 26-story brick tower is softened a bit with fanciful turrets and pointed roofs. Rooms are large, with lush carpets, pastel walls, and heavy drapes that pull back to reveal floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking downtown or Vieux-Montréal and the waterfront. Bathrooms have separate marble tubs and showers. Le Continent restaurant serves fine international cuisine. A footbridge links the hotel's main building with the 18th-century Nordheimer Building, which houses many of its public rooms. Pros : easy underground access to shopping and nightlife. Cons : business oriented (the convention centre is across the street) and a bit stuffy.

This hotel was comfortable and luxurious, and we were able to get an excellent rate online for a short weekend stay. It is definitely convenient, as it's only a couple of blocks from the oldest part of Vieux Montreal, while still being near the convention center and public transportation.
