Hostelling International

Fodor's Review:

Young travelers from around the world, as well as a smattering of families and adventurous older wanderers, flock to Hostelling International's Montréal branch. With its red awnings and friendly café-bar with a pool table, it resembles a small European hotel. There are same-sex dorm rooms that sleep 4, 6, or 10 people and private rooms suitable for couples or small groups. If you're not Canadian, you must have a Hostelling International membership to stay here (C$35 for two years). There are kitchen facilities and lockers for valuables. Reserve early for summer lodging. Pro : sweet price for a downtown location near the Bell Centre and the nightlife of rue Crescent. Con : noisy.
