L'Assommoir

L'Assommoir Review

The cocktail menu originally put this hip bistro on the map, drawing crowds for creative martinis (think cucumber and basil), and now the food holds its own. House specialties are ceviche—the menu lists over 10 variations of raw fish "cooked" in citrus—and heaps of grilled meat and fish served on wooden chopping blocks. Young partiers like the cafeteria-style tables, where they mingle over ginger-beer cocktails, soups, salads, and tapas.
