Maison Pierre du Calvet Review

Merchant Pierre du Calvet was everything that British-ruled Montréal didn't like—a notorious republican, an admirer of Voltaire, a pal of Benjamin Franklin, and a fierce supporter of the American Revolution. But he was also prosperous enough in 1725 to build a fine residence with thick stone walls and multipane casement windows. His home now houses a restaurant and a small but opulent bed-and-breakfast (called Pierre du Calvet AD 1725), where you can enjoy the same hospitality Franklin did in the mid-18th century.
