Le Place d'Armes Hôtel & Suites Review

Three splendidly ornate commercial buildings dating from the Victorian era were merged to create Old Montréal's largest boutique hotel, pleasing jetsetters and business execs alike. The high-ceiling guest rooms—some with exposed brick or stone walls—combine old-fashioned grandeur with sleek modern furnishings. Large bathrooms are tiled in black granite and white marble. Beyond the rooms, the 2,000-square-foot spa includes the city's first hammam, or Middle Eastern-style steam bath. A rooftop bar and restaurant serves sandwiches and grilled entrées at lunch, and there's a hipster lobby brasserie, Suite 701, where the after-work crowd quaff martinis. The foyer has a clubby new room with billiards and a huge flat screen for socializing. The Basilique Notre-Dame-de-Montréal is just across the square, and the Palais des Congrès is nearby.

    location, location, location..... and a great hotel

    The hotel is perfectly located in Old Montreal within a stones throw of Notre Dame. The room are delightfully large both the standard King and the King suite. This is a "keeper" that we will return to each time we are in Montreal. The decor is stylish yet fully functional. Can I complain about anything.... well the shower head in the standard king is a disappointment (notably the King suite shower is FABULOUS)

    A true 5 star

    Had a wonderful stay at Le Place d'Armes Hotel. The room was furnished with a wonderful bed and the sheets felt exquisite. There was no coffee service in the room and we called and one was sent in 5 minutes with extra coffee. We would recommend this hotel to the traveler who wanted to be near the dock, great shopping, restaurants and the Chapelle Notre-Dame. All within short walking distance.

    Great Hotel

    Am I glad, I found the Place d'Armes after my poor experience at the W.
    Friendly staff, well appointed guestrooms and bathrooms. Book and executive suite, plenty of space. Nice wide shower stall and jaccuzi.
    Walking distance to Old Montreal's restaurants and art galeries.
    Good spa.
    Continental breakfast could be better.
    This is where most movie actors stay.
