Fodor's Review

Serious foodies keep this trendy bistro on their must-eat list, and it's not hard to see why: the prices are good, the wine list is extensive, and the elegant decor is reminiscent of a high-end French restaurant. The cuisine is fresh and based on very local ingredients like immature juniper berries, sea buckthorn, and local honeycomb. The restaurant takes pride in its exemplary environmental approach like an Ocean Wise certification, a composting program, and organic or sustainably produced ingredients. The seasonal menu at Laloux changes often but the duck magret or seared scallops are always a good bet. For a more casual atmosphere, head over to wine bar Bar Laloux next door for a great three-service, C$20 table d'hôte in a mid-century Scandinavian decor.
