Modeled after a typical Paris bistro café and named for a Canadian painter who lived just up the street (and whose prints hang on the walls), this busy, noisy restaurant with patios in front and back is a popular place with the locals. Open every day from 7 AM to midnight, Krieghoff serves specialties that include croissants, "la Toulouse" (big French sausage with sauerkraut), steak with french fries, spinach pie, boudin (pig-blood sausage), and "la Bavette" (a French-style minute steak). This place is a big local literary hangout, with great coffee, tea, and desserts.
