The Confederation Trail

The Confederation Trail, along the roadbed of the abandoned railway networks, extends almost the complete length of the Island, from Tignish to Elmira. Its more than 350 km (217 mi) of flat surface are excellent for hiking and bicycling. Plum-colored gateways are near roadways at many points, and food and lodging are available at villages along the way. You can get maps at Tourism PEI (www.gov.pe.ca/egovernment).
