Elmwood Heritage Inn Review

Tranquil is the key term to describe this 1889 inn, which sits at the end of a tree-lined lane in a residential neighborhood. Designed by architect W.C. Harris for the grandson of shipping magnate Samuel Cunard, Elmwood has been faithfully restored to reflect its Victorian pedigree. Exhibit A: the grand dining room where gourmet breakfasts are served by candlelight. Some rooms have clawfoot tubs and original working fireplaces. A second-floor common area boasts another fireplace plus a balcony, stocked guest fridge, and a collection of classic films.
