Fairholm National Historic Inn Review
The Fairholm, a designated National Historic Site, is the primo Maritime example of the architectural Picturesque movement. Featuring inlaid-hardwood floors, stunning stain glass windows, fine antiques, and imported wallpaper, the 1838 property has been—in one Fodorite's words—"restored to perfection." Spacious guest rooms have fireplaces and enviable extras such as soaker tubs or bay windows. A hearty breakfast is included in the rate, picnics are available for purchase, and the friendly staff will help you plot excursions to all the nearby restaurants, as well as to shops and attractions.
