Port Hill
Port Hill was one of the many communities in the Tyne Valley that benefited from the shipbuilding boom of the 1800s: the era of tall-masted wooden schooners. Some beautifully restored 19th-century homes testify to the prosperity of those times, and nearby Green Park Provincial Park is a pleasant spot to visit.
