Massey Hall

Fodor's Review:

It's always been cramped, but Massey Hall's near-perfect acoustics and its handsome, U-shape tiers have made it a great place to enjoy music since 1894, when it opened with a performance of Handel's Messiah. The nearly 2,800 seats are not terribly comfortable, and a small number are blocked by pillars that hold up the ancient structure, but Massey Hall remains a venerable place to catch the greats and near-greats of the music world, such as Norah Jones, Arcade Fire, Neil Young, and Gilberto Gil. Comedians and dance troupes are also standard fare.
