Cawthra Square B&B Inn

Fodor's Review:

Once the residence of a sergeant in the York Militia, Cawthra Square is now a restored 4,400-square-foot gay-friendly inn. Antiques, including a queen-size mahogany canopy bed, furnish Victoria's Room. Mary's Room has a mahogany four-poster bed and private terrace. Ric's luxury suite occupies an entire floor, with two bedrooms, a whirlpool bath, and a terrace. The large country kitchen has tin ceilings and access to an adorable garden with a gurgling pond and flowering plants. Continental breakfast includes a cornucopia of fresh baked goods, as does afternoon tea. Two other homes, at 512 and 514 Jarvis Street, just moments away, provide additional accommodation. Pros: personalized service, safe neighborhood, spotless. Cons: some heterosexuals may not prefer this neighborhood, no on-site fitness facilities, may be difficult to reserve room in mid-summer.

  • Hotel Details: 6 rooms, 4 with bath
  • In-hotel: laundry service, Internet terminal, parking (paid).
  • Rate includes: Continental breakfast
  • Credit Cards: AE, D, MC, V
  • Metro: Wellesley
