The Queen and Beaver Public House
The Queen and Beaver Public House Review
Toronto's British heritage thrives at this classy bar with a full restaurant that opened in 2009. The black-and-white photos on the walls reveal its true passion: soccer. A Manchester United game is never missed, though NHL and other sporting events are also shown in the library-like "sports bar." On weekend mornings when an early game is on, they'll open—sometimes as early as 7 am. The wine list is admirable for a pub; the beer selection is surprisingly small and focused on Ontario microbrews. Dressed-up British staples—available in the bar or ground-floor dining room—range from Scotch eggs to a killer hand-chopped-beef burger.
