Gladstone Hotel Review
In a restored Victorian hotel, the Gladstone draws a young, stylish Toronto crowd who appreciate a multitude of creative events: karaoke (every Friday and Saturday); indie, jazz, and bluegrass bands; spoken word; burlesque; queer nights; and art shows. The Ballroom is the main event space—and frequent wedding venue—with tall ceilings, exposed brick walls, and a long, dark wood bar. The Melody Bar hosts karaoke and bands and serves dinner until 10 pm; a late-night menu is available from 10 to midnight, but there's always cocktail service. The tiny Art Bar has exhibitions, performances, and private events; there are art galleries on the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th floors; and there are rotating exhibits throughout the hotel's public spaces.
