Gladstone Hotel

Gladstone Hotel Review

In a restored Victorian hotel, the Gladstone draws a young, stylish crowd that appreciates karaoke (Friday through Saturday), queer night on Wednesday, and frequent indie, jazz, or bluegrass bands, spoken word, and art shows. It has a more everyman vibe than the Drake, its competitor two blocks to the east. The ballroom café is the main space, with tall ceilings, exposed brick walls, and a long dark-wood bar—dinner is served until 10, and a latenight menu from 10 to midnight. The Melody Bar hosts karaoke and bands. The tiny Art Bar has exhibitions, performances, and private events. There are also galleries on the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th floors.
