Toronto Nightlife

The Bloor Hot Docs Cinema

Updated 09/12/2013

Fodor's Review

If you like your films factual, informative, and inspiring then the Bloor is for you. Come here for documentaries on political movements, such as A Fierce Green: The Battle for a Living Planet, or perhaps somthing more esoteric like Mussels in Love. The only documentary-focused cinema in the world, the Bloor is the permanent home of the annual Hot Docs festival; numerous other festivals, including TIFF, have screenings here too. There are occasional showings

of good old classics and rep-cinema favorites, such as Fitzcaraldo or the Rocky Horror Picture Show. Tickets are C$11. Festival screenings and some special presentations are pricier.
