Mistura

Mistura Review

Mistura's combination of comfort and casual luxury and its innovative menu make for an ongoing buzz. A bright dining room with wooden pillar, black chairs and curtains, and white tablecloths set the tone for a straight forward meal without fuss or nonsense. Choose from more than a dozen delectable starters, like beef carpaccio with Grana Padano shavings and black truffle over arugula. Balsamic glazed lamb ribs, square-cut spaghetti with lobster, and boneless Cornish hen stuffed with fresh herbs are specialties. Parmigiano-crusted veal scallopine is always a hit, as are homemade pastas like braised duck agnolottiwith sour cherries. Daily whole fish is a carefully thought-out triumph. Vegetarians are given their due with signature dishes like beet risotto. Sopra ($$-$$$), a second-floor Italian lounge and jazz bar, offers full-sized meals as well as bite-size delights. Conceived as a million-dollar playroom for grown-ups, it's all zebrawood and onyx, complete with an grand piano.
