Cosmopolitan Toronto Hotel Review

Tucked away on a side street in the heart of Toronto, this überboutique hotel opened in 2005, seamlessly blending an Eastern aesthetic and spirituality with typical Western hotel amenities. Each suite contains floor-to-ceiling windows, flat-screen LCD TVs, a gleaming kitchenette, comfy living room, washer and dryer, and bubbling gemstone fountain (which can be turned off). Ask for an 03 suite between floors 17 and 23 for the best view of Lake Ontario, or blow your budget and rent the Designer Penthouse, a 1,450-square-foot duplex suite with wrap-around balconies dreamed up by HGTV's Designer Guys. The on-site Shizen ("nature" in Japanese) Spa 3500 contains a 12-person hot tub. Eight Wine Bar, the hotel restaurant, offers contemporary dishes by well-established chef Shane Straiko that emphasize local and organic produce. The Cosmo, as locals call the hotel, is the place for the more modern, downtown crowds.
