Fodor's Review

A superior kitchen is seamlessly paired with bistro informality. Start your experience with traditional pâté de maison (liver pâté partnered with quince marmalade, wine preserves, and plenty of homemade croutons). Seared east coast scallops with truffled mushroom risotto is a treat, and a roasted half chicken with herb garlic au jus crackles with crispness and Provençal flavor. Ask about the wild-game dish of the day. Faux stone walls stenciled with Jean Cocteau-esque modernist designs, sturdily upholstered chairs, and a tiled floor make the dining area sophisticated but comfortable.

I loved this place. Liver to die for (can I get the recipe?) and I hear great roast chicken too. But alas, they didn't survive the TIFF moving to King street. The building was torn down last year to make space more new condos (does Toronto really need new condos?). RIP Bistro 990.
