Fodor's Expert Review Down the Street Bar and Restaurant
Editor's Note: This location is no longer in operation.
Funky and eclectic, this bistro-bar is the hottest place in town and a go-to spot for Festival actors. Chatter and jazz tunes are the soundtrack in the whimsical bordello-meets-Macbeth space, decorated with low-hung chandeliers and red rococo-style wallpaper and drapes—even the ceilings are red. The seasonal menu of only seven entrées is as playful as the decor, ranging from rib eye with herb shallot butter to panko-crusted black cod to sweet chili-fried tofu with coconut curry rice noodles. A "late-night" menu of dressed-up sandwiches, burgers, and antipasti is served 'til midnight. On tap is a comprehensive selection of imported beers and microbrews.
