Pazzo Pizzeria and Taverna
Pazzo Pizzeria and Taverna Review
A corner of Stratford's main crossroads is home to one of the city's best and most convivial Italian restaurants. Have a drink and people-watch at the bar or on the patio. Led by new chef Yva Santini, the kitchen creates hearty regional Italian mains—like porchetta with crispy pork belly and balsamic cipollini onions—and house-made pastas—such as lobster cannelloni with confit fennel and salmon caviar—that make good use of locally sourced produce and meat and sustainable fish. Downstairs, at the Pizzeria, go for the straightforward pasta dishes or the thin-crust pizzas—two favorites are the Soprano, with calabrese, portobello mushrooms, and asiago; and the Italian Stallion with prosciutto, Italian sausage and bacon, spicy calbrese, and bocconcinci (bite-sized Mozzarella balls). It's a popular meeting place after a play, the decor is soothing and modern, and the service is quick and friendly.
