For alfresco dining, it's hard to beat Zee's huge wraparound patio with heat lamps across from the Shaw Festival Theatre. More informal than most similarly priced restaurants in town, Zee's has a seasonal menu that brings panache to homegrown comfort foods, such as seared rainbow trout with Jerusalem artichoke ravioli and crispy leeks or grilled beef tenderloin with double-smoked bacon hash and cabernet jus. Appetizers follow the same philosophy—elegant, yet whimisical—as
represented by a lobster poutine of butter poached lobster in a classic herbed Hollandaise sauce, and the duck confit pâté en croûte of confit duck leg, baked in a pastry shell served with chutney. Breakfast is served daily.
