A husband-and-wife team, both Stratford Chefs School grads, operates this small, self-professed "culinary gem." The chalkboard menu changes daily, and nearly everything on it is locally sourced. Two- or three-course prix-fixe dinners have French, Italian, and Asian influences: duck confit steamed in cabbage leaves with French lentils and bok choy may be an option for your main course. For dessert, there might be an Ontario peach tarte with black-pepper ice cream and basil syrup. The small entrance, next to the Stratford Hotel, is easy to miss: to get here, cross the parking lot on Erie Street, or pass through Allen's Alley, off Wellington Street.
