Fodor's Review

At Stratford's top choice for sophisticated haute cuisine the look is summery and modern: brick is exposed, windows are unadorned and panoramic, and, with a theatrical flourish, flowing white silk scarves hang from primitive stone masks. Diners have five to seven choices for each course (appetizer, entrée, and dessert) on the prix-fixe menu (C$92.50). Offerings change frequently, but regulars would protest the removal of the grilled duck breast with carrot-and-parsnip

puree and pickled dates. The more relaxed Sophisto-Bistro, at the same location, has two- and three-course dinners (C$50–62) that might include hot-smoked trout salad with fingerling potatoes in a hot bell pepper cream or, for dessert, poached apples and candied apple ice cream. Considerable artistry is lavished on preparation and presentation.

Rundles Restaurant Review

Toronto-based friends took me here last summer. Have to admit, on my first time going to provincial Stratford, I had my doubts... I have to say this is a fabulous restaurant, better than all finer restaurants I have dined around on business trips to Toronto, and Montreal. I love everything about Rundles, esp., their attention to details. From design, cuisine, service, wine list, down to the fashions the staff wear, everything here is first rate.

My only complaint: they are not located in Toronto!

Rundles Restaurant Review

On my first visit this past July 2011, I found this restaurant to be very, very good. It is expensive compared to other restaurants in Stratford, yes, that is for sure... But, well worth the expense dining here. After a week in Stratford, I found the food and service here to be the most accomplished in town.

Rundles Restaurant Review

Simply appalling. Rundles is the most expensive restaurant in Stratford – 90 bucks a person, and that doesn’t include wine, tip, or taxes. And there are dishes with underhanded “supplementary” charges. What makes them think they can get away with such exorbitant prices? Shame on them, shame on them! I was with a party of four and it came to well over 600 bucks. I could fly to Europe for that steep price tag. Skip this place. They rob you blind.

Better options to be had elsewhere…

Rundles Restaurant Review

"The look is Venetian, in a theatrical Stratford way" could sound tacky. The "flowing white silk scarves hang from primitive stone masks" turned out to be unnoticeable, especially if window-facing. Service was unobtrusive, smooth and low-key, which we like. The lunch all-inclusive was just the right quality/quantity, and the courses were all 'energizing' - as a good meal should be. Recommended: calamari; lemon tart dessert.
