On busy Ferry Street, Napoli is just a five-minute drive from Clifton Hill but it's a local joint that manages to be both casual and refined. Sit in the back room if possible, where exposed-brick columns and black-and-white photos of Naples on the walls set the scene for the southern Italian pasta dishes and thin-crust pizzas. The extensive menu includes 10 pizzas with crisp, wafer-thin crusts and generous dollops of tomato sauce, and plenty of pasta dishes and hearty meat dishes to choose from. Start with a garlicky bruschetta before an entrée like homemade roasted sausage with baked polenta and rapini or fettuccine in a red-pepper-spiced oil-and-garlic sauce with anchovies, bread crumbs, and Pecorino. Wines are mostly Italian or Niagara. You can order pizzas for pick-up.
