Niagara-on-the-Lake

The hub of the Niagara wine region is the town of Niagara-on-the-Lake (sometimes abbreviated NOTL). Since 1962 this town of 14,000 residents has been considered the southern outpost of fine summer theater in Ontario because of its acclaimed Shaw Festival. As one of the country's prettiest and best-preserved Victorian towns, Niagara-on-the-Lake has architectural sights, shops, flower-lined streets and plentiful ornamental gardens in summer, quality theater nearly year-round, and some of the best chefs and hoteliers in the country.
